Gilbert Badillo was born and raised in the South Bronx. He graduated from Morris High School earning an academic scholarship to Manhattan College. After graduating from Manhattan College in 1975 with a Bachelor’s Degree in History/Edudcation, he was awarded a full scholarship to attend Boston College School of Law where he received his JD in 1978.
Judge Badillo began his legal career representing indigent litigants with The Bronx Legal Aid Society. He eventually entered into private practice which lead to the opening of his own firm. In 1986, Hon. Badillo was appointed to Housing Court. In 2009, he was appointed Supervising Judge of Housing Court in Queens County.
Judge Badillo remains active in service to his legal and church community through a variety of memberships and projects. He is happily married and has two adult children.
