Welcome to the Records Management Office
of the OCA Division of Court Operations.

| Note: If you are looking
for a particular record, you will need to contact
the specific court where the action would have taken
place. |

Our mission is to assist the Courts and OCA offices to streamline
operations by lowering costs while maintaining file integrity.
We do this by providing records management guidance, technical
assistance and training.
Courts, throughout the state, produce volumes of records
each day. Managing the records of those cases throughout the
state assists the court and its constituencies in making the
most effective use of their government. Proper management
of court records allows judges and attorneys, for example,
to research old cases that may have an impact on the outcome
of their current case. It allows court staff to properly handle
and manage the "paperwork" of cases that are currently
on the docket awaiting adjudication. It allows citizens to
document the history of their family or community.
While maintaining guidelines for the preservation and use
of records in paper or micrographic formats, we also must
ensure the preservation and documentation of records maintained
in electronic mediums as well. Standards for managing and
preserving electronic records will assist in facilitating
the current and future efficiencies of the court and will
maintain the security and integrity of those records for years
to come.
