IN CUSTODY VIDEO CONFERENCING

Effective April 23, 2008 attorneys may make arrangements to conference with their clients who are in custody in the Suffolk County Correctional Facility in Riverhead via videoconference, by calling directly to the Office of the Sheriff at either 631-852-3356 or 631-852-2267. Videoconferences may be scheduled for either that same day or for a date in the future. The conferences will be scheduled at half hour intervals starting at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 3:30 p.m.

This videoconferencing can be done from either the Cohalan Court Complex in Central Islip or the Cromarty Court Complex in Riverhead. At attorney scheduled for a videoconference at the Cohalan Court Complex should check-in at the voucher station located in the center of the magnetometers at the main entrance. At the Cromarty Court Complex they should check-in at the Clerks window on the second floor. Attorney's will be required to produce identification and sign a log.

Defendants in the Riverhead jail can be brought to the video conference booth in as little as 30 minutes. A conference with a defendant in the Yaphank facility requires 24 hour notice.
