The application period to become an attorney for children is currently
Before you may become an attorney for children you must be in good standing, have attended a two-day seminar, "Fundamentals of Attorneys for Children Advocacy," have completed six credit hours of online Domestic Violence training, have been attorney of record in three Family Court proceedings under certain articles of the Family Court Act, and be approved by a Family Court Judge. The next "Fundamentals" seminar for which applications will be accepted will be held in Rochester on March 26 & 27, 2015. You begin the process by filling out an application that will be posted on this page in December 2014 and returning it to Linda Kostin, Assistant Director, Office of Attorneys for Children, 50 East Avenue, Rochester, NY 14604. The application deadline, the date by which you will be informed whether you have been invited to sit for the training, and other important information, will be posted on this page with the application.
