These constant status court appearances allow the Treatment Court Judge to give appropriate rewards and sanctions for compliant and non-compliant behavior. The Treatment Court judge is a pivotal team member in the treatment process, actively using the Court’s authority to demonstrate interest in the defendant’s welfare and to emphasize the serious nature of the defendant’s behavior.
