This program, a part of the Young Lawyers Series: Cocktails & Commentary, is an event on Brigadier General of the Continental Army and Polish freedom fighter, Tadeusz Kosciuszko, and his efforts to end slavery, as illustrated by his will. Magdalena Baczewska, Lecturer and Director, Music Performance Program at Columbia University, will perform a piano concert of original compositions by Kosciuszko. A toast of The Kosciuszko Bridge, the newest Williamsburg cocktail that joins spirits of two nations: Polish Bison Grass Vodka and American gin, will follow.

This event is co-hosted by Fraunces Tavern Museum, Polish Cultural Institute New York, and The Historical Society of the New York Courts.

The Society is partnering with the New York State Archives for a program in which leading experts will discuss early documents of State importance that provide a window to legal foundations. The program will also cover the importance of the preservation of early court records.
