PROGRAM

This program will look at how restitution or retention of stolen art going back to the Nazi regime and forward to the present has been treated both historically and in the present. A panel will then discuss the fate of these valuable possessions from the perspective of the auction house that first has contact with the artwork, the lawyer advocating for return or retention of the artwork, and the judge adjudicating the case.
