They are hard at work to make this evening a great success, both as a necessary fund-raiser (the only one we have each year), and as an evening that will take a unique look back at the formation of the Commercial Division and its development with commentary from the judges. All of the Commercial Division judges will be invited as our guests.

On April 18, 2013 the Society held its annual fundraiser honoring the five women judges of the New York State Court of Appeals as of that date; covering a span of 30 years: Judith S. Kaye, Carmen Beauchamp Ciparick, Victoria A. Graffeo, Susan Phillips Read & Jenny Rivera. As part of the evening the Society produced a video of personal interviews and a roundtable discussion with the Judges. You can view this video below.

INFORMATION ON MAKING A CONTRIBUTION
The Historical Society of the New York Courts wishes to express our deep gratitude to our many supporters, including individuals, law firms, and other organizations for their generosity and continued support.
As an independent 501(c)(3) not for profit educational organization, the Society depends on the generosity of others to carry out its mission. The great majority of our memberships are at the $25 and $50 levels. This amount does not even cover the cost of providing the generous benefits we offer our members, let alone fund our mission. We are very fortunate to be aided so generously by prominent firms and individuals in our New York legal community. Without this loyal support, our initiatives, including educational outreach, book publications, free public lectures, and oral histories, to name a few, and the administration of the Society (including developing and maintaining this website), could not continue. In addition, the Society works closely with the New York State Unified Court System to showcase and preserve its courthouses, courthouse art, and rich judicial history, to promote lectures within the courthouses, including a lecture series at the New York State Court of Appeals, and to provide displays in the public areas of the courthouses. This support makes these projects possible.
Contributions to the Society may take many forms, and we are happy to work with donors to shape a meaningful project for which a gift will be used. Gifts to assist the Society meet its general operating budget are always needed. The Society is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) not for profit educational organization. Contributions to the Society are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. For more information about ways to support the Society's work, please: Contact the Society
