The Child Welfare Court Improvement Project ('CIP') is a federally-funded initiative
that supports the Family Court's mandate to promote the safety, permanence and
well-being of abused and neglected children.
In recognition of the integral role courts play in charting the course for children who are the subject
of abuse, neglect, foster care, termination of parental rights and adoption proceedings, the project provides resources and technical assistance to enhance and promote innovation in
court operations and practices. Major areas of focus include:
