The Appellate Division Law Library offers public access computers, online databases, and access to the Internet in order to further its mission of providing legal information to the local community.
Public Access Computers
Two of the public computer terminals in the library contain software including Word, WordPerfect, Quattro Pro, Wordpad, and Adobe Acrobat Reader for the use of our patrons.
Patrons can save information from the library's PCs on diskettes, CDs, or USB jump drives. Disks are available at the Circulation Desk for $1.00, CDs for $.50 each.
Online Databases
The library provides free access via the Internet to a number of online legal resources. Licensing restrictions prevent the use of these databases through the library's website, but they are available at public computer terminals in the library.
The Appellate Division Law Library is now a wi-fi "hotspot" for free wireless Internet access. Ask at the Reference Desk for a copy of the Wireless Internet Agreement and the configuration directions.
Due to the wide variety of laptops and operating systems available, library staff members are not able to provide technical assistance.
