CHERYL JOHNSON
Biography
Lifelong resident of Bronx County,
senior office assistant Cheryl Johnson is a compassionate, dedicated,
well-informed employee who is committed to Bronx Housing Court's
services to the community she lives in. As the second of five
children, she was influenced by the strong ties of her family
that as she explains "never stops embracing one another" and to
her being teased by her peers as a child because of her father's
physical disability. As a result, she developed an inner strength
and compassion for the needs and feelings of others.
Assigned to Bronx Housing Court
since 1993, her best skills are always on display when she acts
as the lobby information / greeter visible and available to assist
the approximately 2,700 people who pass through her area daily.
She provides invaluable information and with her positive outlook,
she has the special knack of keeping people at ease.
Ms. Johnson has been married for
32 years to her childhood sweetheart and they have four children.
She also has three grandchildren that she refers to as "her precious
loves."
She prides herself as being a product
of the New York City public school system graduating from James
Monroe High School and attending Herbert H. Lehman College, C.U.N.Y.
She sees everyday as a learning experience and describes herself
as a person who believes in always going beyond what is asked.
Taking advantage of educational programs is her passion, and her
most recent achievement is successfully completing the UCS Professional
Development Program.
Her hobbies are nature walks, dancing,
and singing; her future aspirations are to attend law school and
instill her compassion for life, education, and others to her
growing family.
