Mrs. Capizzi started her career in the State Court System in 1978 in Buffalo City Court as a Senior Office Typist working in the office of Chief Clerk of the Court. She has been employed in the District Administrative Office for 23 years, where she is responsible for all fiscal activities in the sth Judicial District. Among her responsibilities as the chief fiscal officer in the District serving the Executive Assistant as well as District Administrative Judge, is the preparation and expenditures of the annual budget which currently is in excess of seventy-four million dollars. Her duties also include daily management of the District Administrative Office.

Genevieve has also been involved in the creation, development and monitoring of specialized courts throughout the District which include drug courts, domestic violence courts, mental health courts as well as the integrated domestic violence court in the Supreme Court which will open later this fall. Presently there are nine (9)drug courts in operation and six courts in the planning process. There are mental health courts in both Buffalo and Niagara Falls City Courts.

Executive Assistant Harry Brand stated that in conjunction with her many daily duties, Gen is in daily contact with most of the Chief Clerks, Agency Supervisors, Justices and Judges as well as everyone else that does business with the District Office. She is highly regarded and respected throughout the sth District by Judicial and nonjudicial employees. Her commitment to the sth District is legendary and well received. She resides with her husband Jim and daughter Jodi on Grand Island.
