Candidate Biography
Personal Statement |
- Justice McCarty is a retired Colonel in the Judge Advocate General Corps. Judge McCarty was a graduate of the United States Army War College. He served in Iraq and he directed the restoration of judicial services in Kuwait, Albania, Slovenia and Haiti. Justice McCarty also holds the rank of Special Professor at Hofstra Law School. He also teaches law at the Widner Law School, and for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. Prior to his elevation to the bench, Judge McCarty was a Homicide Prosecutor. During his 14 year tenure, he prosecuted some of Long Island’s major murder cases.
