- Professional memberships include: Board of Judges of the Civil Court of the City of NY; New York State Bar Association; Macon B. Allen Black Bar Association, Board member (1992-Present); New York City Bar Association; Latino Lawyers Association of Queens County; Federal Court Eastern District Pro Bono Program (1989-1995); and Queens County Bar Association.

- Prior to January, 2004 when he was elected to the office of Judge of the NYC Civil Court, from 1997, he had been employed as the law clerk and principal court attorney for Supreme Court Justice Leslie G. Leach in the Queens County Supreme Court.
- Prior to this position, for 14 years he was a sole practitioner engaged in the private practice of law in areas that included the following: federal and state civil litigation; administrative law and hearings; family and matrimonial law; wills, estate planning, probate and administration; real estate; employment and civil rights litigation; appeals to federal and state courts; real estate; landlord-tenant law; personal injury and negligence; incorporation and small business advice; and bankruptcy law.
- He has also served as a Hearing Officer for the Transit Adjudication Bureau, a Referee in conservator and incompetency matters for the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Appellate Division First Department and a staff attorney for Community Action for Legal Services, Inc., an agency charged with providing legal representation to the indigent.
