Transcript of Money Judgments

 

To Obtain a Money Judgment by Mail, If You Do Not Have the Index Number or the Date Judgment Was Entered

A search will have to be conducted. The fee for a search and a certificate recording the result of the search, called a "Find on File" or "Fail to Find" certificate, is $10. This fee covers a two-year search. If more years need to be searched, an additional $5 is required for every additional two years or portion thereof. There is a charge of $.65 per page with a minimum charge of $1.30 for copying the documents. If you desire a certified copy, there is an additional charge of $8. Please send separate bank or postal money orders for each two-year search period. We will return any bank or postal money orders that were not used.

We will notify you of the exact fee. In your request, you will need to list the names of the parties against whom the judgment was entered. Please note if you are obtaining a copy of a judgment in order to clear your credit, a certified copy is not required. All fees are payable to the Kings County Clerk by bank or postal money order, certified check, or NYS attorney's check. No personal checks will be accepted. Please mail your request with a stamped self addressed envelope to:

To Obtain a Money Judgment by Mail, If You Have the Index Number or the Date Judgment Was Entered

This office will notify you of the exact cost. If you desire a certified copy, there is an additional charge of $8. In your request, you will need to list the Index Number, names of the parties against whom the judgment was entered, or the date. Please note: if you are obtaining a copy of a judgment in order to clear your credit, a certified copy is not required. All fees are payable to the Kings County Clerk by bank or postal money order, certified check, or NYS attorney's check. No personal checks will be accepted. For Information on a Satisfaction of Money Judgments

A satisfaction of money judgment may be filed at Window #10 in person or by mail. There is no fee for this transaction.

A certificate of disposition of money judgment is $8. If you are doing your transaction through the mail, please include a stamped self-addressed return envelope for your receipt. All fees are payable to the Kings County Clerk by bank or postal money order or certified check, or if coming in person only, the fees are payable in cash.

If filing by mail, send your request (and a letter clearly indicating your request) to:

Transcript of Money Judgments

A transcript of money judgment may be filed in person or by mail. The fee for filing a transcript of money judgment is $25. There is a $15 fee to purchase a transcript of judgement to be filed in another county, made payable to the Kings County Clerk with a separate check or bank or postal money order. No personal checks will be accepted.

If filing by mail, include a self-addressed stamped envelope for your receipt, and a letter clearly indicating your request. All requests and fees (but not cash) should be mailed to:
